Report on employee training

This is to evaluate the performance of the twenty new recruits in the sales department. Recently I have made a survey among them through a test. The quiz contained questions about Solartech’s activity, the product specifications, the customer segmentation and application of some sales techniques.
After evaluating the results from the survey, I defined these points as the main problems:
50% (10 people) have poor or none sales experience;
6 have difficulties in recognizing potential clients;
12 have problems with explaining the technical details of the solar panels.
However, almost 100%, have very good knowledge of the company’s mission, activity end competitors.
Although there might be some serious omissions in those recruits’ training, I think that it is not too late to ameliorate it. What I suggest is a 3-stage course for all the twenty employees, covering a material from sales and communication skills, to understanding customers’ reasons to buy. Also it is going to be really useful for the recruits if our product manager explain in details all the specifics of the solar panels, in order to deliver better and detailed information to our clients.
